First and only one of its kind in Suisse Romande, the Frederic Chopin Society Geneva was created in 1997 by its founder and current president, Mrs. Aldona Budrewicz-Jacobson. The aim of the Society is to promote, to the widest extent possible, the appreciation and understanding of the great Polish composer's music.

With over 130 members , our Society is now an integral part of the Geneva and Suisse Romande cultural life. The Chopin Festival, which always takes place around the second or third week of November, has grown to become a "must" on the Swiss musical scene.

But the Frederic Chopin Society Geneva is not only a yearly festival. It is also :

  • A Masterclass where numerous pianists of all nationalities come to perfect their Chopin interpretation skills under the experienced eye of confirmed prestigious concert pianists.
  • A Concert at the start of the musical season , normally at the beginning of March, to celebrate the birth of the illustrious Polish musician.
  • "Discovery trips" to the composer's native country, Poland , which take us on the "Fryderyk Chopin trail" including a number of concerts.
  • The "Chopin Genève" prize at the International Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin Competition to reward, under certain conditions, a Swiss or European pianist.

If like us, you are among the numerous admirers of Chopin's music and wish to support the Society's cultural aims, please don't hesitate to join us !

It is precisely the support of our faithful members that allows us to continue offering such musical enjoyment. To all of you, many grateful thanks !

We will of course be present at each concert of the next Chopin Festival to answer any questions you may have – or, better still, why not contact us right now ?!
